Back in the Swing of Things!

I can’t believe we’ve been back at school for a week and half already!

As your 4th grader may have told you, we’ve been so busy! We’ve reviewed all of our rules and procedures. They’re pros at this whole school thing by now, so it went very smoothly. We’ve started working on our first Math and Reading skills. 4th graders are reviewing basic multiplication before we start using larger numbers! We’ve also started to talk about the plot of a story and how to organize all the important information we need to notice as we read.

Hopefully your student brought home a little note from me this week or last. It’s important to me to let each student and their family know that I recognize how hard each kiddo is working to get our year off to a great start. Thank you for sharing your fabulous kiddos with me!

You should have also received information about connecting to Remind and SeeSaw to stay up to date about what’s happening in our classroom. SeeSaw will be posts your student is creating about things we’re working on in class. Remind is a quick way for me to send reminders to everyone. Please let me know if you’re having trouble connecting to either of these.

Here are a few upcoming dates to keep in mind:

Book Orders Turned in: August 23rd I’ll submit the order at the end of the school day.

Open House: August 29th 5:00-6:30

September 2nd: Labor Day, NO SCHOOL

Thank you for all your support!

Welcome to 4th Grade!

Hello 4th Grade Families,

You’ve found your way to Mrs. Wright’s class website. This is where you will find resources to extend the skills we practice during the school day, information about important events, our snack calendar, and any other updates for our class.

I am so excited to get this school year started!

As you might already know, I am very pregnant and our family will welcome our second child in early September. Fortunately, it’s been an uneventful pregnancy and I plan to be in the classroom for the first month of school. I will be on maternity leave for September, October, and November. I am leaving the long-term sub with in-depth plans and resources. Furthermore, the rest of the 4th grade team is exceptional and works together to plan and prepare. Your students will be in great hands and I’ll be eager to get back to them after Thanksgiving break!

If I didn’t see you at Meet the Teacher, please check with your students for a back-to-school folder of information. There are a few things that need to come back to school soon.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me. The best ways to do this are my email, cwright@mccsc.edu or our classroom Remind group: https://www.remind.com/join/wright1920

I try to post an update every week, so please check back frequently.

Welcome!

I’m so glad you found the class website! This will be a place to find updates about what’s happening in class and information about important Lakeview events.

You’ll also find a section for resources to use at home for extra Reading and Math practice.

I will be on maternity leave from early September through Thanksgiving Break. I’ve worked with the other 4th grade teachers and Mrs. Evans to ensure a smooth transition for the students and I’m confident the long-term sub is prepared to have a great time with these amazing kiddos!

Please contact me via email at cwright@mccsc.edu with any questions and join the Remind group!

I’m looking forward to a wonderful school year!
